Purple Mountain Observatory (FKA Carrier Goods) is a UK brand that has quickly established itself in the outdoor world. With everything from legwear to triple-layer shell jackets, these guys should have something for you, whatever the weather.
Much like Orlando, Florida’s renowned water park, this shoot was a tad Wet ‘n’ Wild. Probably more wet than wild, or maybe even wildly wet. I’ve just had a Google, and it turns out ‘Wet ‘N’ Wild’ was permanently closed back in 2016. RIP in peace.
We decided to pick the wettest day on God’s Green Earth, and took a spin up the side of the Old Man of Coniston with some of the latest AW23 styles from PMO. The pictures might not do it justice, but my gosh we got wet.
Drenched, in fact. Right to the core.
You might think a puffer jacket might not have been the best choice here, but the Cocoon Puffer Ice Dye’s weather-resistant shell provided a level of protection as we headed up toward Levers Water.
The Triple Layer Shell Jacket was more than enough to handle the elements, and paired with the Bord Zip Through Fleece, the temperature was perfect. The Blocked Hiking Pants feature elasticated cuffs, which came in super handy and prevented any fabric from dragging on the sodden floor.
On a dry day, the views you get here are insane, but this time, it was best to opt for hood up and head down.
