Hailing from East Keswick, Yorkshire, Elliker is an outdoor company that’s been on the WCH lineup for a few years. Originally specialising in bags, Elliker has evolved into a clothing brand, providing gear for everyday usage.

Not to be confused with Keswick, Lake District, East Keswick is a village in sunny Yorkshire, about an hour and a half away from the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The brand is committed to sustainability and donates 1% of its profits to the East Keswick Wildlife Trust, but the guys also get their hands dirty by supporting its vital work to preserve and develop the vast areas of land within the parish boundary.

We’ve worked with Elliker for several years, and with 2026 being the 20th year of WCH, we decided that it was definitely time to work on a collab together. We also decided that members from both teams would join forces and get out in the open to test run the product, while assisting in the restoration of a woodland area, a short drive from our Ulverston HQ.

With help from the guys at Cumbria Woodlands and the Restoring Hardknott forest team we got stuck back into our environmental work.

The Restoring Hardknott Forest Project is a partnership between Forestry England and the University of Leeds. Using practical conservation techniques informed by research and monitoring the aim is to restore one of the largest conifer plantations in the Lake District back to native woodland.

Our mission was to remove Sitka spruce, a tree commonly used on plantations (which this area used to be) due to its fast growth and suitability for commercial timber use. It is, however, not native to the UK; this means that in order to restore this woodland to its native species, it needs to be removed.

We each grabbed a saw and a set of loppers, and after a quick demonstration from the guys at Restoring Hardknott Forest, we set off across the woodland to exterminate the Sitka.

Once we’d brought down a couple of tall boys, we were rewarded with a quick bite and a slab of cake to refuel before continuing our mission.

A big thanks to everyone at Elliker for making this happen, and a huge thanks to Cumbria Woodlands and Restoring Hardknott Forest for the day out!

WCH X Elliker launches on 26th March at 10 am, both online and from our Ulverston store.
