Working Class Heroes was established in 2006, initially selling skate, surf and street clothing from all around the globe to the good people of Ulverston. As WCH has grown, so has the brand mix, website and shop. We’ve been in our current location for the past 12 years, after taking over the lease from Blockbuster (RIP).
The store is curated with some of the latest menswear styles from our favourite brands in the form of shorts, trousers, jackets, and enough t-shirts to shake a stick at. We’ve also got a section of our favourite women’s styles, aptly named ‘Working Lass Heroes’. Brand new to the store is the homeware section, which features some incredible pieces from HK Living, Maegen Homeware and Field Day Candles.
We’ve just had a super clean refit in the form of a pegboard display, which gives us the ability to focus on a particular brand or category, hopefully pointing you in the direction of your next purchase. What we lack in space, we make up for in top-quality bants.
On a Saturday, you will find a bucket of ice-cold beers, usually being drunk by the WCH team, while offering their advice on why the £300 GORE-TEX jacket is a no-brainer.
If you ever find yourself in the South Lakes area, more specifically so, the mighty Ulverston, come in and check us out. Shop Manager, Euan, will most likely be on hand to deal with your requests – you can usually find him eating a box of meat and salad, while Marvin Gaye blasts through the speakers.
