Battenwear Packable Anorak
Designer Shinya Hasegawa, who previously worked on the Woolrich Woolen Mills collection, is a lifelong vintage clothing hound. Working in the garment industry, he spent his life admiring 60's, 70's and 80's surf, street and outdoor collections - a time that appeared to be in constant change with a forward-moving energy. This inspiration lead him to set up his own brand - Battenwear.
Founded in 2011, Battenwear is based in New York City. All of their clothing is made in the USA - in fact, it's all made in a factory that's just a couple minutes walk away from their studio and showroom in NYC's garment district. This means that they can spend their time ensuring that quality is ever present in the production of their gear, and never wavers from the high standards that Shinya has set.
This jacket is a timeless classic from Battenwear which combines a higher-level of outerwear fashion with some retro sport vibes. It's made from an extremely lightweight single shell of 100% Taslan nylon. This specific nylon is known for having the technical properties of nylon, whilst having the same levels of comfort as a cotton jersey. The shell is weather-resistant, fighting off showers and winds, and drying quickly once the weather subsides.
It comes in a regular fit which is true to size, and it has a drawcord hood and hem to adjust the fitting to suit you, as well as buttoned cuffs. In a pullover style, the neck is zippered with a buttoned storm flap and it has a side zip for a more functional wear, making it easier to throw on and off. It has a large front pocket which is zippered and finished with a woven branded Battenwear tag.
This packable jacket is the ideal spring/summer companion, whether you're hiking in the Lakes or drinking in NYC. Get it bagged.
