For the past three years we’ve been donating 1% of all Patagonia revenue towards Yvon Chouinard’s 1% For The Planet, putting the money to good use in our local area through working with Cumbria Woodlands to restore and maintain the Lake District’s natural forests.
So far we’ve bashed the bracken to let natural plants grow, constructed a fence to keep deer from damaging the trees, bashed bracken again, and now… taking our fence down so that diseased trees can be felled and removed from the area.
Two steps forward, one step back, and all that.
Our next job is to reconstruct the fence, one final bracken bash and then finally, plant some new natural trees.
