It all started in the late ’60s when a young Ralph Lauren was selling ties from a drawer in the Empire State Building, under the name Polo. A year later, he debuted his first men’s collection, which led to him opening a store within Bloomingdales, the luxury department store located in NYC.
Ralph Lauren has stayed true to the same vision for nearly 50 years. He’s now an American cultural icon in his own right and the company he created is a global leader in the design, marketing and distribution of premium apparel, accessories, home goods and fragrances.
I’m pretty sure if you’re reading this, you’ll be aware of Polo. Not the mint or the car but the menswear collection by Mr Ralph Lauren. The Polo Pony logo is probably the most recognised out there, whether you’ve seen it in your dad’s wardrobe, on TV or even in your favourite store. For me, the brand’s polo shirt is the first item I saw with the Polo embroidery. Gone are the days of fitting into an S and hitting the town.
As you can imagine, the collection is huge, but we’ve curated our offering to some WCH staples which feature fleeces, jackets, polos and caps. For one look this shoot, we opted for the Pullover Fleece in Saturn Poster Print which was simply paired with the Cotton Chino Bucket Hat in Cafe Tan.
For the second look, we went for a more layered approach which included the Custom Slim Fit T Shirt in New England Blue, the Fair Isle Jumper Vest in Tan, the Bayport Poplin Jacket in Vintage Khaki and the Cotton Chino Ball Cap in New England Blue.
We’re buzzing to be a stockist of Polo RL and can’t wait to get the rest of the season in!
