A legacy of more than 75 years

1940 - A gentleman by the name of René Cléon a shoemaker and bootmaker joined the front lines during the Second World War, he was taken prisoner and spent 5 years in captivity during the Battle of France - but this didn't stop him from modelling leather shoes in his spare time with the dream of launching a shoe manufacturing workshop. In the weeks following his return, René formed a team of apprentices and bought his first stitching and assembly machines. His dream was starting to become reality in the family home in La Romagne, with a specialization on Kneipp-sewn mixed models, the business grew and René's first factory was built.
1988 - KLEMAN was born and won increasingly large tenders to shoeing the French National Railway Company, Air France and even the French Army. Initially reserved for trades seeking security, sturdiness and quality, most of KLEMANS iconic models include the ISO EN-20347 standard and thus enable an additional guarantee thanks to anti-slip, abrasion resistance, and the innocuousness of materials.

KLEMAN shoes have survived the fashion effects by offering a raw and authentic unisex style. The Padror leather tyrolean shoe and other references of boots or debris have remained since the 1980s, offering a truly timeless workwear style.
